The Cor Jesu Program - The Spiritual Exercises in Daily Life
Would you like to make a thirty-day retreat, the Spiritual Exercises
of St. Ignatius Loyola, but do not have a month to spare? St.
Ignatius foresaw this situation and provided for it so that you
could pray and reflect on the meditations and themes of the Spiritual
Exercises even in the midst of your ordinary daily life. The Spiritual
Exercises in Daily Life require a commitment of 60 to 90 minutes
of daily prayer centered on specific Scripture selections and
a weekly meeting with a director for a period of about nine-months.
Readiness for this intensive retreat ordinarily grows out of shorter
directed retreats, daily prayer, and regular spiritual direction
with someone who reflects with you on your experience of God in
prayer.
This is a way to grow in prayer; to develop a real and personal
relationship with God; to see more clearly God's presence in
creation, your personal life story and current life circumstances;
to know Jesus more intimately, love Him more deeply, and follow
Him more closely;
If you are ready for this retreat experience, Manresa can guide
you to an appropriate director, a man or woman who has made
the Exercises, has been prepared to walk with you through them,
and can help you discover how to pray and how God is leading
you. And this is a good time of the year to begin We recommended
beginning this retreat in early September so that the usual
sequence of prayer and reflection can be in harmony with the
celebrations of the liturgical year.
The program is usually offered from September
to May. Tuition is $640 in eight monthly installments and a one-time
copying fee of $25. If you are interested, contact Ann Dillon
at Manresa Jesuit Retreat House for further details and information
by e-mail or at 248-644-4933

WORKSHOP BEGINS: WHO DO YOU SAY THAT I AM?
A Workshop on Mark's Gospel and the Mystery of Christ. Shortest
and likely the first of the four Gospels, Mark's Gospel is filled
with questions about the identity of Jesus: Who is this man? Who
do people say that I am? Are you the Christ? Are you the King
of the Jews? We will read and discuss the Gospel in the hope of
responding more deeply and faithfully to Jesus' central question:
Who do you say that I am?
The leader, Jan Fletcher, has taught New Testament in various
settings since 1981. A spiritual director since 1987, she has
an M.A. in Religion from Catholic University of America and a
Ph.D. in German from Penn State.

Praying with Body, Mind and Spirit: Going Deeper
God continually calls us deeper - to trust, have faith and surrender
to His will. This can be easy to do when things are going the
way we think they should, but quite difficult when God's plan
doesn't exactly line up with ours! Times of change and transition
often increase our stress and challenge our faith. Join others
who have experienced a Prayer in Motion retreat to focus on this
vital calling from God. Use Scripture, guided meditation, music
and body movement to engage your whole being in prayer. Bring
a journal for some quiet reflection. Basic movements will be taught
which can be done by anyone, regardless of experience or physical
limitation.
Facilitator:
Janene Ternes commissioned spiritual director and founder of
Prayer in Motion, LLC will facilitate this program. Janene has
developed and presented a variety of workshops and individualized
programs which teach and inspire holistic forms of prayer for
people of all ages. Her goal is to help others find and achieve
their own inner connection with God, leading to a more loving,
peaceful, joyful and fulfilled life.
Cost: $40.00 (includes $10.00 non-refundable deposit
and lunch).
Limit: 30 participants
Registration: Register
