HOW YOU CAN HELP

1. SPIRITUALLY & MORALLY

Manresa is a spiritual undertaking which will succeed or fail depending upon the will and help of God, and so your prayers for us and our work are of the greatest importance. Your moral encouragement and support also sustains us and for that we are most grateful. Your word of mouth reports are the best advertising and the way of recruiting available. People come to Manresa because you have shared with them your own good experiences here and have passed on the invitation, “Come and see.” For all of that our many thanks.

3. FINANCIALLY

Manresa's John A. McGrail Fund

Manresa has over the years operated on the edge of viability. Donations for retreats has never been equal to the cost of providing these retreats. In 2001, the Board of Directors initiated the development of the John A McGrail Fund. The interest from this fund is meant to support the operating budget so that the ministries of Manresa could continue for generations to come.

We invite friends and supporters of Manresa who have not yet made a gift or pledge to the McGrail Fund to consider doing so now. Your help is truly needed! Thank you and God Bless You.You can even make a donation online using a credit card; we accept Visa, MasterCard and American Express.

The Manresa Legacy Society
“Discover the Benefits of Planned Giving”

Retreatants and friends of Manresa can make gifts through their estate or other planned arrangements which are an alternative to cash donations that may be limited due to budgeting considerations. These gifts ensure that Manresa Jesuit Retreat House continues to be a very special place that is a refreshing source of Jesuit spirituality (rejuvenation, guidance, teaching, and comfort) for thousands of fellow Christians from all walks of life.

The Manresa Legacy Society is a part of the Fr. John A. McGrail Fund which has the sole purpose of improving the financial support for daily Manresa operations while building a solid foundation for generations to come. Legacy gifts include, but are not limited to, those listed below. If you want to help Manresa by making a Legacy gift like these, you may contact Fr. Farrell, Manresa's Director, phone (248) 644-4933, or by e-mail. Or you may check whichever of the items below you are interested in, fill in your name and phone number and send it to Father and he will get back to you.

Adopt-a-Retreatant

We come to you each year to invite you to share our ministry by making a contribution through an appeal called “Adopt-a-Retreatant”. Following the example of our founder, St. Ignatius Loyola, we invite retreatants to make a free will offering, but do not charge a set fee for our conference retreats. Therefore, what we offer is available to everyone, regardless of ability to pay. Since Manresa is not subsidized in any way, and since not all of our retreatants are able to pay for their retreats, we rely on your usual generosity. Please consider a gift of $100, $250, $500 or more in support of the service and spiritual growth opportunities we offer here at Manresa. Your generosity will be more than ever appreciated. Donate online.

An Appeal for Retired Religious

Over the years Manresa has experienced great joy in accommodating many groups of retired sisters. They have a special place in our hearts because of their years of service to the Church especially in parish schools. However, as you know, their financial capability is limited.

These retired religious make retreats at Manresa during the summer months. For good reasons we have never charged them the actual costs of our services. Therefore summertime budgets and cash flow are always strained even with reduced staff and other operational cost reductions.

Manresa has niitiated a Special Appeal for Retired Religious. We ask your help for this worthy cause. Please contact us and send your tax-deductible gift in honor or in memory of the religious of your choice. Your generosity in this special Jesuit ministry is truly appreciated. May the Lord, who has blessed all of us in so many ways, continue to pour out his blessings on you. Donate online.

Gift Certificates

Did you ever think of giving a Gift Retreat at Manresa to someone? Perhaps on the occasion of a birthday or an anniversary, it would be a nice thing to do for some member of your family or a friend. Call Manresa's office if you wish to obtain a “retreat gift card” that may prove helpful.

If you ever want to offer a gift to your pastor, a priest, or someone who works in your parish, why not offer a Gift Day at Manresa? This would cost $40 and include a private room, along with lunch and dinner. Such a gift would also have the advantage of familiarizing them with Manresa and what Manresa has to offer.

Or you can give someone a Gift Certificate for the Book Store, which has a wide selection of spiritual and religious books. It would be applicable as well to items in our gift shop: T-shirts, sweat shirts, mugs, caps, etc.
