
Fr. Jared Wicks, SJ
A dynamic speaker and teacher, Fr. Jared Wicks, SJ, was ordained in 1962 and received his doctorate at Münster, Germany, with a dissertation on Luther’s spiritual instruction, leading to his first book: Martin Luther and His Spiritual Legacy (1993). He taught at the Jesuit School of Theology in Chicago and the Gregorian in Rome, during which time he began researching Vatican II, resulting in his book, Investigating Vatican II: Its Theologians, Ecumenical Turn, and Biblical Commitment (2018). Fr. Wicks was recently scholar-in-residence at the Josephinum Seminary in Columbus, OH, where he guided lay retreatants in the Spiritual Exercises until moving to Colombiere (Clarkston, MI) in 2017, where he currently resides.
