Encountering the Sacred at Manresa

I have been to only one retreat at Manresa. (This is something I am looking to change soon!) I came during a time in my life where I felt drained, stressed, and out of touch with my faith. I happened to follow a robin on one of my morning walks which led me right into a mud puddle. I heard God’s message loud and clear: “Stop overthinking and don’t be afraid to start living! It’s a message that sticks with me over a year after the retreat.

First, Manresa is my place for peace and reflection and strengthens my inner being always knowing God is holding my hand as we walk life's path. The retreat programs never fail to give new meaning to God’s Word and always someone new to meet who is on the same journey. Prayer, Bible study, walking the grounds and all the people who make this life's journey better each time I am able to be at Manresa. Thank you for ALWAYS, ALWAYS, ALWAYS being available. May God's Grace, Peace and Joy continue.

The retreat I attended last year was a life-altering event for me at an important time in my life. I am clearer about God’s plan for me.

Last year I had a significant revelation while walking the labyrinth, which I had previously dismissed as “not for me.” That experience, in turn, caused me to experience the Stations of the Cross more deeply and personally than I ever have. I will continue to return [to Manresa], and will encourage and invite others to join me.
